Needle In A Haystack

And Learning to Stand Out!!

With so many people competing for the same work positions, and the countless hours spent in online recruitment websites, sending off countless 'cover letters, C.V or Resumes and References to all the listed job vacancies, the hours of phone canvassing, to prospective employers, sifting and applying through local newspaper job ads, door knocking whole industries even, for just one glimmer of hope - it could almost leave you feeling defeated - especially if it comes to 'very little' for all your efforts - not even an acknowledging 'call-back' or a 'thanks for applying.....but....'

If this is how its been for you lately, then take heart - its times like these, when 'whole industries need inventing', just so YOU can fill the top spot, and to stop searching in vain for the elusive 'needle-in-a-haystack' syndrome.
Time to step outside that 'closed' and limited world of 'chasing one's tail', and instead CREATE a NEW world of perfect career, with endless possibilities, and income to match. Time to create your own 'needle', and to heck with the rest of the 'haystack'! And,... at least you have more of a chance, to be discovered by a metal detector, because you're made of different stuff, altogether.
The point being, you can become incredibly innovative, in your pursuit of individual expression, and ultimate freedom.

The only mystery to any of this really....is deciding - What do YOU want to Specialise In?
If you're through with competing with hundreds of others, for 1 job....If you're frustrated with knowing exactly what you're good at, and no one else seems to recognise it....If you still remain hopeful, and optimistic, even in these uncertain times, then you owe it to your own sense of well-being, self-esteem, and confidence to begin setting yourself apart, with an interesting and creative 'Point Of Difference', that will make a huge 'impact' in how others see you, and catch the eye of prospective clients, or future employers.

By simply defining yourself, and your skills, accurately, this will help to create the perfect work environment, and job description, for you. With constant defining, and aligning, with whats in your heart and mind to do, then gradually, you begin to Custom Build Yourself a Job or Industry, just by believing it can be done. Especially one, which perhaps previously, you tried applying to, amongst many other applicants, in a job vacancy advertisement, only to find you weren't quite the 'right' fit, according to someone else's opinion. Or, one which was never advertised, but you were always interested in, and curious about.

Well, give yourself full permission to 'jump the queue', and create your own job vacancy, that only you can fill. One perfectly matching your specialised skill and knowledge. Because YOU wrote the Job Description, to match YOU exactly. You didn't wait to be asked to attend some 'hopeful job interview', outside of your control, praying to land a job - no,... you by-passed that whole process, and hired yourself as the best person for the newly created position, anyway, because you Custom-Built it, only for you. One that came from your own mind, and heart, because you care enough for yourself, and loved ones, to at least try.

This too has been my story, based on frustration with a job market, which never gave me a decent 'look in'. Having worked intensively for many dedicated years in a technical industry - the recession, soon saw to it, that I wouldn't anymore. And regardless of experience, and highly technical and legislative knowledge, of an industry,...no job, previously applied for, battered an eyelid.....until very recently...but,... more on that later, in this post.

Our household suffered the consequence of this, as a result. Things were lost from our lives, which we worked hard to gain, as is always the case, when relying on something, outside your control, for livelihood.
So, when my morale got low, from all the fall-out, I instead used it as a 'spring board' to jump into study. With a view to gain new insight into business creation and management.

Once studies were completed, it gave me a new perspective, motivation and inspiration, to apply the newly acquired knowledge into creating businesses, or custom-building a job, especially tailor-made, to suit my skill base 'wish list'.

My wish list initially consisted of mainly these:

1) Create income from what I love to do
2) Create, build and maintain a body of personal works
3) Specialise in chosen field
4) Create National and International awareness
5) Establish brand
6) Live the Dream!

Long hours of commitment, dedication, perseverance, persistence and focus, have all accumulated into what I've managed to achieve so far.
Often 'clocking up' well over 30 hours, some weeks, of unpaid time, just to see something worthwhile through, and to inch closer to a lifestyle, I only imagined, was possible.

Many several websites later, all with a dedicated body of work....and one, in particular which is number 1 on the Google listings, out of a search of over
10 . 5 million, & is high on both Bing and Yahoo search engines - I think I can safely say,... I've achieved at least 4 target goals on my wish list. Something which I'm grateful for, and has been hugely rewarding, on a personal level.
Things will only get better, over time. And hopefully, far exceed all my initial expectations.

Its all about taking control of your situation, and not settle for anything less. Especially when there are way better things on the horizon, that you can have a direct hand in creating.

Become that giant, and widen your perspective - not only do you see whats ahead, but you also develop peripheral vision too, and begin to see whats all around.
And, as you begin to see everything, so too, everything begins to see you!

Futher, about the matter I mentioned previously, regarding having applied for a particular job... Anyway, I went to an interview, last year in October, the interview wasn't successful as they hired someone else. But, the initial impression left, at that interview, impressed the employer, that, just this morning, I recieved a 'call-back'...and.... was basically offered the job, as the company is fast expanding, and I came a close second, from their initial interviews, from last year.
This of course is exciting news, and am very happy with the situation.

Because nothing can be predicted, and it could have gone either way,...I'm glad to have utilized the time, last year, to set up and establish all my other goals, and to create the awareness and presence, in something I love...Art & Creativity, Design, and Writing... I will continue to manage and operate my creative projects, even while I work the new full-time job, which in these times, am hugely grateful to have the opportunity for,... but, I'll very much be living for my passion of the Creative Arts, still!
I'll not let it go. Everything is possible.

And funnily enough, just on the eve of recieving this late 'call-back' recently, from the old job interview, from last year, in a whole other industry....I'd actually just put finishing touches on my 'trademark' & Logo for my other niche business venture.....which is on the verge of 'Launching'.... Will it all be too much for me now?.....Am very much of the belief, Everything Is Possible....I can work, full-time, & continue to manage the other projects.... Besides, I've dedicated so much time & effort in establishing a presence, and awareness, and aligning with my core competencies, I'll not give up on it, now!

So, at this juncture,.. don't ever give up on yourself, your dreams, and aspirations.

Keep going with your plans, and utilize your time accurately. Continue to build your perfect position in life, no matter what.. And trust yourself, to always achieve, what YOU set out to do.
